Submit a Letter to the Editor
Publishing your opinion in local newspapers is one of the best ways to let your representative/senator and community members know how you feel about an issue.
If you’re particularly passionate about an issue, take a few minutes to write a 350-500 word letter to the editor. Remember to:
- Keep it focused on a particular point or recent news item.
- Be specific and share 1 or 2 compelling facts that you may know about an issue.
- Be sure to include your contact info, and a number they can reach you at. Papers sometimes need to contact you before they can print a letter.
Here a quick list of papers and information on where to submit. Visit the website of the paper you want to submit to BEFORE submitting your letter to make sure you follow any specific guidelines that they may have:
